Serenata
Remake of this: http://on.fb.me/LdoaOb
Had fun making this because I used so many new techniques to make this gas giant. They all turned out just fine for me.
(Whoohoo! Finally, its finished. :D)
Erika - Just orbiting comfortably near the edge of the Goldilock’s zone of the Taygeta star lies the planet Erika: The Evergreen. Evergreen, because of it’s lush green and blooming forest and meadows that lie on the edge of those thick trees and the harsh deserts. They stay green due to the planets orbit that’s parallel to its revolution, keeping the non-polar zones free from the cold winter days. Each night, the city light’s itself up with green lights to welcome Lux, Erika’s only moon, to the night sky.

It’s been about 20 months since I started on this; putting more focus on the planet first because it involved a lot of techniques I never used in my past artworks. The island in the middle started as a chunky land mass which resembled the letter “E”. I built around it: polishing the coasts and cleaning the clouds. Then it became Erika (soo out-of-the-blue :)) ). I finished off with the nebula and the bigger stars earlier today. It turned out really nice. :D
Haha, another update to the design. Thanks to a friends comment to make it look less “main campus-y”. So its now “PISAY ISKO”, hehe. Final na talaga ‘to. :)) I posted it as a comment in my entry as a response.
Hehe, sharing. This is what I submitted for the Lanyard Contest. :D
